How Your Body Is Telling You Have Nutrient Deficiencies or Underlying Issues

Our bodies are very smart and they are trying to tell us what is happening all the time, we just may not be aware of what they trying to say. Here is a brief list of some of the basic and most common ailments and their nutrient deficiencies.

Eyes:

  • Dark circles can indicate allergies, food intolerances and dehydration

  • Poor night vision: Vitamin A

  • Nearsightedness: Vitamin D

  • Pale lower eyelid: Iron

  • Cataracts: Protein, Selenium, B2

  • Bloodshot/itchy eyes: B2

  • Sensitive to light: B2

Teeth/Mouth and Gums:

  • Bleeding gums: Vitamin C, Folic Acid

  • Crowded teeth: Calcium, Vitamin K

  • Sore tongue: Iron, B2, B3, B12, Folic Acid

  • Canker sore: Iron, B3

  • Cracks at corners of the mouth: B2

    This is list is definitely not comprehensive but it does shed light on the importance of eating a varied, well balanced and whole foods diet! Some of the listed ailments are also indicators of other underlying conditions such as an under active stomach, allergies and or food tolerances.
