Ok, well Covid -19 is a major thing and we all have to do our part and stay healthy, by staying away from work, school, and travel which forces us inside more than normal. I have seen a few funny memes about finally noticing your family members since there is no more sports on! I love that in the middle of a pandemic we can still find some humour in the situation.

Keto and Paleo Diets: Why I Hate Them.

I understand what we eat day in and day out is VERY personal. It is not just fuel for our bodies, it is so much more complex than that. Food is tied to emotion, to comfort, to memories and so much more. I understand, it can be confusing with so much conflicting information about diet and nutrition that it’s overwhelming. I try very hard to not allow the words “You should eat ….” come out of my mouth if unsolicited.

Homemade Micro Greens

Eating with the seasons is a good practice to have. Like the seasons our bodies are also cyclical. Eating a juicy tomato, as delicious as it is durning the snowy months of winter is not ideal. Our bodies are looking for the squashes and the root vegetables of late fall and winter.

Supplement the Sunshine Vitamin

Winter means a lot less sunshine especially if you live north of the 49th parallel. Which means we are exposed to less sunshine and that isn’t great for the sunshine vitamin. Yep, poor Vitamin D is having a hard time being produced during the winter mons. It is important to supplement Vitamin D at this time of the year for our bone health and our teeth.
